What "convert" means here: Dailymotion's player receives each quality tier as a stream of short segments. This page assembles the tier you choose into one MP4 file without decoding or recompressing it, so the picture and sound are exactly what Dailymotion streams. It is packaging, not transcoding — which is also why there is no MP3 option.

Is it a real MP4, or a renamed stream?
A real MP4. Dailymotion's player receives video as a sequence of short streamed segments; what you download here is one ordinary MP4 file holding the whole video at the quality you chose.
That is why it opens in Photos, VLC, QuickTime, Windows Media Player, video editors, and smart TVs the same way any other MP4 does.
Does converting to MP4 lose quality?
No. Nothing is re-encoded on the way through, so the picture and sound are exactly what Dailymotion streams at that tier. "Convert" here means packaging, not recompressing.
What converting cannot do is add quality. A video streamed at 720p becomes a 720p MP4; no tool can turn it into a genuine 1080p file.
Will the MP4 play on my iPhone?
Yes. In Safari the file goes to Files → Downloads. Open it there to play it, or tap Share → Save Video to put it in your Photos library alongside your camera roll.
Which MP4 quality should I pick?
For keeping, the top row. For watching on a phone, 480p or 720p looks sharp on a small screen at a fraction of the size. For a TV or a large monitor, take the highest tier available.
Can I convert Dailymotion to MP3 instead?
Not here. An MP3 has to be re-encoded from the soundtrack, and this tool does no transcoding at all. Download the MP4 and any media converter you already trust can extract the audio from it.
Can I edit the MP4 afterwards?
Technically, yes — it opens in any editor. Whether you may is a separate question: editing and republishing someone else's video still needs their permission. For your own uploads, go ahead.
